Curriculum Packet
This newly developed supplemental packet covers the history of the Northwest Indigenous people during the time of the Gold Rush.
This curriculum pairs the Voices of California's Indigenous Elders found in the Northwest Indigenous Gold Rush History booklet with the plan book that includes cross-curricular hands-on activities for both Native and non-Native youth. Some cross-curricular activities include:
- Journaling and Reflection
- Visual Arts
- Vocabulary Development
- Map Skills and Graphing
- Writing in Various Genres
- Critical Thinking
- Social-Emotional Learning
Indian Action Council is proud to offer this curriculum packet which was a 5 month labor of love for a few Native American scholars, educators, a student and artist who are acknowledged on page 61 of the lesson plans book
